I am droped about 1 3/4 on 19's on an 02 A4 and the shocks are set on what they were set from out of the box.
They ride great. No rubbing.
I think they were from the first batch before there was the rear perch problem that I read about.

My car is 25.5 inches fender to ground front, 25.625 (10/16") in the back. Rebound is a little more than half stiff. No rubbing on 225/45-17, but my fenders are rolled. I doubt you actually have to do it, but I did. Ride quality is pretty good; not really irritating, but sometimes noticeably stiff on bad roads. Handling (along with sway bars) is closer to neutral. The rear will definitely kick out if you push it. Body roll is night and day over stock.

Hope I helped.
