Default PES Supercharger High Miles Install?

Hey guys, after everything that ive found out about the 2.8 A4 and the overwhelming response to throw the PES supercharger on my A4 i was wondering what everyone thinks about doing it at about lets say...111,000miles. I have about 107,000 now and i think i will be around 111,000 when i finally have the money and take the dive for the Supercharger. Lets say the A4 has 125,000miles what do you think about an install then? I have herd that because of the A4's great highmileage engine that adding forced induction at over 100,000 miles is ok. On most other cars a rebuild would be a good idea. Does any one have a PES System that was installed with high miles? Good idea, bad idea. Input?

Thoughtthis would be a usefull thread for our 2.8'ers.[sm=smiley20.gif]

If I were you, I wouldn't spend close to the worth of your car on a supercharger.

Do it! well compression test first.. but if you still love your car as much as when you got it (which I cant imagine why you wouldn't) then DO IT!

+1 to compression test (you can do it yourself) and maybe a leakdown test as well. If I were you, just to be on the safe side, I'd go ahead and do the t-belt service too, just so you know you aren't running on a worn-down belt or tensioner. Make sure the car is healthy with good fluids and good brakes all around, and then if you still can justify the cost of the PES s/c, by all means go for it. It's a lot to spend on a car with the value that it has, but hey - your car, your money, and with car freaks (like most of us on here), there's a lot to be said for the hobby, regardless of whether it makes great financial sense or not. If you don't enjoy the car, you may as well not have it. Get the s/c and have fun with it if your motor is good with respect to the above ideas.

+1 on that, any good write ups on how to do a compression or leak down test, also what is the difference?

the pes supercharger is known to have little to no affect at all on the durability of the motor. Read some reviews about it, it's supposedly the most reliable forced induction system on any car.

Ive done too much researching and not enough purchasing.
