My central locking has packed in, is there a way to manually open the petrol flap on a1996 A4.
Help would be appreciated.

Take a screw driver and pry the crap out of it.



Ok don't do that. Honestly I don't know, but I was reading over on AW thats what some people had to do.

 

Do you have a manual? I'm pretty sure there's a process in there. If not, I'll post up instructions if no one else does when I'm not in class.

 

My '02 has an emergency release in the trunk, you have to pop off the cover where the taillight retaining screw is on the side where the filler cap is. It's probably different in a '96, but check the trunk for an emergency release.

 

Guys, thanks for help. I managed to open it just by slipping in a knife at the opening of the flap and slid the pin back. No damage caused and I know have petrol. Now to solve the central locking problem.
