Is there anything wrong with chipping a CVT, the website for the shop says it can be done? Would a different brand be better for the CVT?

No , you just will get only half the TQ of a regular chip.

CVTs can't handle the torque of the regular GIAC chip so they make one for the CVT with 40ftlbs instead of 80...for the same price

Very Nice looking car.... And I love the wheels.

Welcome to my world. On one side you have 1.8T that can haddle alot of modifications but on the other hand you have a CVT that can only take a chip and not much more....
I don't know about GIAC but I have APR chip and APR told me that there was no difference between regular APR chip and the one I have for my CVT.

I don't know does GIAC produce more torque than APR? What I know is APR 91octain chip is below the torque spec of the CVT transmission and I have not had any problems with it yet. Also remember 3.0 engines also come with that same CVT and can handle their torque....

Anyways enjoy your car and good luck.

Nice wheels, very nice match for the car! I have set of Fliks for about a year now, "pothole resistance" apears to be much better than most wheels I've ever had.

ORIGINAL: PJTocci

ORIGINAL: Morgy

I saw it on a couple a4's including the one from that "on ice" article in european car mag and liked it!

I like it too, I would just feel wierd if somone in a 911T was behind me...
Don't hate on the turbo badge. VW also uses this badge, its not like it says Porsche.
