Default Please help... sooo frustrated

Well.... I finally got around to it today and installed my new boost gauge and Forge 007. Took it for a ride and the gauge didn't register any boost. The gauge reads in bar, at idle it was about -.8 and then when driving it would read 0, at one point in second gear the gauge did register about .2 bar but thats it. My car is a 00 A4 1.8T fwd tiptronic, it has almost 152k miles and RARELY will burn coolant when idleing, but like it said its only happened about 4 times in the 6 months that I've owned the car. Any ideas, I really need help figuring this one out

boost gauge is electronic and has a sender unit... those lines are all tight, and i thought it didn't matter how the dv was installed, but put it in the same as factory...

well the vacuum line is hooked up to asensor, and that sensor then sends a signal to the gauge. I would have prefered mechanical, however this gauge matches my interior perfectly, which is what I wanted... any ideas though... anyone???

Ok... I have a very well understand of how cars work and what not, I just don't understand this one... my car feels no different now after the install than it has over the past 6 months since I bought it... the only thing i can think of is that the sensor is bad, but how could it register vacuum correctly and not boost

you should only be seeing about .3-.4 of a BAR for 5-7lbs of boost

and cars don't really "burn" coolant...
i bet it's your resevoir bottle..... does it look old and brown?
if so replace it.

in 2000 the 1.8t i belive were boosting 5 or 6 lbs of boost... then in 2001.5 they boosted 7
pretty sure... don't hold me to it

does your car feel like it is running good? does it feel like it's lagging?

get a chip.... then you'll see a whole bar....bar and a half.... or just get a psi boost gauge...you can find one that matches your int. there out there.

Weellllll... the car feels like it always has, kinda sluggish to me because I'm used to peppy, very responsive Honda's. As for full boost on a gauge, when would I hit full boost? Maybe I should try and borrow a psi boost gauge and test with that?

.3-.4 BAR = 5-6 lbs BOOST

get a new gauge...that one's going to be no fun...

and get chipped....world of difference for the 1.8T

Well the whole reason I got the boost gauge is because I am going to be doing the zener diode mod, so once thats done it will be "fun". I just guess I thought it boosted a little more than that factory... oops.
