I have a 2006 Audi A4 quattro with the 2.0L FSI engine.

I had a check engine light come on and when I pulled the code it was Turbo Underboost.

I took it to the dealership and they told me the turbo needs to be replaced. The car has 53,000 miles now and they said it's no longer under warranty and it would cost $1365. to replace it.

It seems strange to me that the turbo needs to be replaced at only 53,000 miles.
Is this a common problem with this turbo?
do they go bad alot?
I think the turbo is a K03 is that correct?
can it be rebuilt?

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
