Looks 10x better. Still think the onepiece looks cleaner though.

 

Thanks guys. I haven't decided if i'm going to do a fog light upgrade yet, but it's on my list now that i've lost my fogs;and as you mentioned Tuner, the city lights are now operated by my fog switch....but they (city lights) only come on when my hi-beams are on. What's up with that?Should they not come on when my low-beams are on? Maybe i'm missing something.

Aznpulse - when you mention sealing the corners; is there a specific area on the corners i should pay attention to? I didn't notice any open areaswhen i installed them, but if i missed something and need to seal a specific area to keep moisture out, please let me know. Thanks!

hi my name is newbie. what exactly are ecodes, im not sure i have a clear understanding

im no noob.
ive justnever bothered to look into it. i liked my lights, bought them, and didnt care if they were e-codes or not. i understand e-codes "are" legal and euro spec but didnt know if they were better quality then non e-codes.

 

are you talking about the black light on your car in the sig ?

if you are those arent ecodes
ecodes are european spec hedlights, without the abmer reflector, they also have a better beam pattern, and sharper cutoff, the difference i was talking about, is on the us spec housing the turn signal bulb protrouds from the back of the housing probably 1 or two inches.. while the ecodes use a smaller single fillament bulb, with a plastic cap on them to diffuse light
ecodes also have city lights, and with the single filament bulb.. the parking lights do not come on when you have the headlights on.

and that is ecodes 101 (b5 version)

 

thanks! you actualy cleared quite a bit up for me.
yea the headlights in my sig.
i dont have amber reflectors, and the amber bulb is in a clynder so you cant see it.
the front of the lights has a E4 emblem on it, i didnt think anything about it tho.
buti looked into what you said about the parking light and i remembered that when i got the headlights i got 2 amber bulbs (didnt notice that they only had 1 filliment till today) and the grey conector sockets for the indicator.
at the moment i am running parking lights becuase when i got the kit, the grey indicator sockets where the exact same size as my white socket from the car thus wouldnt connect into each other. so i had to put my OEM sockets in the indicators. and i had to use my origanal amber bulbs becuase the bulbs that came with the kit wouldnt fit in my OEM socket. >=|

so i have smokede-codes whitch cost me $160.00 =)
ive been playing around with the wires earler to actualy see the difference and i got what you ment (no parking light).
so im going to try to re-wire my indicators into the new sockets and bulb so i can do away with the parking lights and becuase the amber bulbs that came with the headlights are a TON brighter then my OEM!

sure fire way to know.. ecodes are only made by valeo, and depo, should have it marked on the lens

 

their depo.
just re-wired up my indicators using the new sokets and bulb that came with the kit.
so no more parking light, true looking e-codes now.
