Wanted to know if a ported and polished, gasket matched and high temp powder coated 1.8T OEM exhaust manifold is worth $150 shipped... its claimed to flow 20% better than original, what do you guys think?

 

i was going to swap my awm small port intake manifold to a aeb big port manifold and was told my my mechanic that it really isn't worth the gain since the gain is very small and the head would need to be removed to largen the port holes on the motor probaly so i never did it but in theory it should work

 

I think the price is right. I bought a second hand exhaust manifold for $100 and I still have to do the port, polish, sandblast, ceramic coating myself.

 

What turbo is this for? If it's the K03 I would say no, not really worth the cost, having to disasemble and reasemble. If it's K04 I could maybe justify spending my time and money on the P&P job. It also depends on your plans for the car, if you plan to go BT then I would also think twice about moding your OE manifold. My $0.02
