Default POssible A4 owner!

Hey guys, I'm seeking you professional help here; I'm seeking to buy an 1999 Audi A4 that has 114k miles on it for 6500 greens. However, the owner said that it's mostly driven in highway (obviously), the owner did something to the turbo giving it 50 HP (i thought bs, but it did spool up fastetrt ahn some other turbos I've sat in on), and the wheel bearings were replaced three months ago, with the clutch replaced at 70k miles. Is it worth the investment? Also, if I get it, can I drive it from home to college with no problems (cleveland to louisville, about 6 hours). Is 114k miles a lot for that engine or is it okay for at least another 3 years of long distance commute? Thanks guys!

Shane

ps- are there any aftermarket stuff for the A4? I know a lot about the S4, but not the A4. I want to eventually put in something that could make more power if I decide to get it, like a boost controller, FMI, or something of the sort. what are some suggestions to the most power in addition to the chip upgrade? Thanks

there are tons of mods out there for the 1.8t

and yes.. he probably got the ecu chipped to give it an extra fifty ponies
you should have no trouble making that trip, it seems like they have kept up on maintenece, but as them if the timing belt has been changed yet, its a crucial maintence item that should be replaced around 70-80 k

what's the first thing you'd spend $2k on this otherwise stock chipped a4?

I'd buy an in-dash navigation and dvd player with a touch screen. My fiance's bro has a pioneer one and he got pulled over by the cops one time. They saw that he had the nav and dvd player in his car and thought it was so cool. They got to talking about cars and stuff and finally the cops just told him to go home.

^meh... for 2 grand....I'd start with some wheels, since he already has it chipped. Then depending on where you live maybe get it lowered, and if he doesn't have a larger exhaust i'd most def go with that to complete the chip.

so exhaust first...what about intake/turbo accessories? doesn't the intake do more than exhaust? at least I know it does for some japanese imports.

ps i'm looking to make this a sleeper, so easy on the outside mods springs i will do though..
