car:00 a4 quattro avant 1.8t w/tip-k&n, giac, evo bov. i went to install a borla catback, but it doesnt have the mounting bracket for the spring mount after the cat, on the front pipe before the flex pipe. any thoughts/experience on it. can i do without it? do i need to weld the original mount to my new exhaust? just a little worried about the strain on the cat. thanks folks. bil

That mounting bracket isnt necessary. Most aftermarket exhausts that come with a flex/down pipe dont have it. After i put my test pipe on, my bracket doesnt line up anymore to connect and its been fine. Actually eliminated a slight exhaust rattle I had before too. If its that big of a deal to you, you could have a shop weld a bracket on for you easily.
