Anyone know what kind of power gains if any that I would see on a 96 2.8 QM if i put in a custom exhaust? Most probably the setup would start after the cat, with mandrel bent piping running to a borla muffler. Might remove the mid resonator, and add a high flow cat. Any recommended setups?

 

Honestly you won't see much of a gain. Take it form someone who has done it. You're gaining sound pretty much. Maybe a little top end but thats about it.

 

yeh was thinking i wouldnt get any noticeable gains. Im more about modding for actual function or benefits rather than aesthetics and sound. Although i have to say my DIY CAI sounds awesome at WOT. Was just thinking about whether upgrading the exhaust would be worth it at all. contemplating H&R coilovers or the H&R bilstein combo. considering we cant do much concerning performance mods, figure ill turn to handling, and leave it at that. appreciate your quick reply btw

 

2.8 not a power horse at all, wants some cheapo gains jsut get an exhaust and intake, good enough for the car to breathe easier, otherwise mess with the suspension and make a corner demon.

 

Good call... an intake sounds hot on this car because of the 2 stage intake... go for handling man...

 

Yeh def just sticking with the suspension upgrades, need to do a bit of maintenance on the car too so ill invest into that as well...hey Saudi your from oswego? do you still live there? I go to school at bing, maybe we meet up sometime, your cars sick btw love the color.
