Its gonna be the second time im refilling my power steering you think i have a leak?

 

2nd time in how long?

hopefully it didn't all leak out in a few hours, replacing the rack and pinion are common on a B5, but shouldn't on a B7

 

LAst time i filled it was a couple of months ago. And no not all at da same time but today i did notice a little oil spill by where i was parked but dnt know if its from my car. i check my power stearing and it was at min.

 

Its not common on a B5. It happens, but its not one of those things you tell someone about if they are considering purchasing a B5 like control arms, etc. In fact, I only know of a couple people within 2 years on this site that replaced their rack.

 

I leak fluid, but only in the winter. I've only topped off the tank once this summer, but during the winter I usually refill the whole thing a little over once a month.

2002 A4 1.8T here.

i had a leak just a few months ago at one of the clamps. took me 175 bucks because i couldnt see that it was leaking and i assumed that my whole P/S system was effed instead of looking into it and took it to a shop. Just check out your lines

 

I just had the steering rackreplacedon my car at 132K mi..
It cost $992. The driver's side seal was blown.
