Most likely Hydraulic Mineral Fluid. That's what my 2001 b5 takes. I couldn't find it anywhere except for at Audi and VW dealerships.

It has to be the mineral fluid. pretty sure Pentosin CHF 11S is the specific type. you can get it at a dealership or ECStuning.com also has it.

I got a big white plastic bottle from the dealership that had the Audi and VW logo on it, and said Hydraulic Mineral Fluid. Is this not a good product?

if it was from a dealer its probably the same thing. i should rephrase what i said- only Pentosin 11s, unless given something else specifically from the dealer that has an Audi logo on it.

anyone know how much fluid is required to replace the steering rack and refill all the lines and reservoir? my rack is arriving today in the mail and ill be heading to the local VW shop for the fluid and crush washers later this week, if they are not ridiculously overpriced
