OK, so i've read a bunch of threads on this power steering noise that I, and other people have had.

My question is: How do I know if the problem lies in the pump or with the fluid? I just put in new fluid today, and there is only a minimal difference.

Also, I can see the fluid circulating when the car is on; doesn't that suggest the pump is OK?

If it is the damned pump, how much is this going to run me?

What fluid did you use?

Hopefully mineral oil type, c11, i think it is.

 

I didn't put it in myself... how much would that matter?
