im not sure about those specific numbers but u can pm auditech79, rbrtech, or techbod and they should be very helpful. i've never seen a starter go bad on an A4. also u have to make the timing belt was done or make them do it before u sign the papers. i guess that's about it though
They wont do the timing belt since the cars is at 100000kms and the service needs to be done at 155000 accoriding to my audi dealship but im gonna do it at 120000. I tried to haggle but they wont budge.
And thanks for your help. Unlike this BOGIE character who makes no sense.????
It seems like you are simplyoffended by not having my 100% approval rating on your decision to buy this car. By all means, buy that car then, if you feel like it won't give you any problems. I was just telling you 135 psi was on the low range. I'd personally try to find one with higher compression and all cylinders within close range (5%) of each other, and no electrical problems. If you were not unsure of purchasing that car, you wouldn't have asked. It could be a basket-case, or it could be a bargain. You know more about these cars then us, right?

What do you mean why? Its the only good deal around where i live.
Theres a reason why its the only "deal" near you and is still for sale. Be wary and yes i think 135 is low if its 145-205 or whatever. It means the engine is starting to lose compresion, and will continue to do so. My supercharged MR2 was still within factory new spec at 19 years old, with 176,000 miles, used for racing and auto-x with an over sized 14lb pulley. I wouldn't take much less from any other car.

WOW! Your obviously not tech certified for a reason on this forum. I called audi and I taked to their techs and they said 120psi to 150 pis for my engine is the healthy range. Mine is 135psi.
Also techbod who IS a certified tech said the engine is a ver healthy one indeed

afour, I may not betech certified on this forum, but I dohave many years experience working on VWs andAudis.
What are the individual readings from each cylinder? Are they all~ 135 psi, or is that just about the average of all 4 cylinders? You do know they should also all be in close range of each other as well. Did you actually perform the compression test yourself?
I don't see how 120-150 psi is a healthy range for a 1.8T, whenthe Audi dealership service master techsaid that 180 psiis wherethey should be with 140 psion the extremely low side. Also don't you think maybe a 103 psi -185+ psirange isgetting a little toowideof a range for comfort? Why don't you call around a fewlocal Audi dealerships and ask them what you car should be at for 100,000 kilometers (62,000 miles). Maybe they'll tell you your tirepressure is okas long as it's between 10 psi and50 psi.

Hope you take no offense by this Techbod.
Did Techbod also perform a complete over-the-internet diagnostic on your electrical dilemma?Or is that 10V battery output good to go by your standards too?
