Default Problem w/ my power window

When I roll my passenger window down I hear a creaking. It stops about 1/3" of the way to the bottom. It seems specific to an exact height of the window rolling up.

Do you think something maybe made its way down in my window? Maybe some flier, papers, etc?
The motor is strong and fast. Doubtful its a problem with the motor, right? What other parts could it be?

I put a ~6MB MPEG-4 video online that shows it in action.

Do you have any recommendations?
I was looking at the door panel inside and I cant see how to take it off.
I took off my panel on my 99 Civic Si and on my 99 Tacoma. It was just a few screws and then a bunch of pop rivets, then you pull up and detach the inner panel from the door. Then maybe I can see in?

Thoughts?

A small flyer got stuck in my driver window and it squeeked a little when rolling up. Heres a DIY on removing the door panels, it may be a little different for a b6 but the concept is the same. http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int13.shtml

damn that sounds bad, doesn't seem like the motor as you say, i know that the runner which lifts the window up and down runs near the door speaker. Doesnt look like there are any marks on the glass ? But i would definately have your door apart before winding it up or down again!.

see the images for removal of the door trim..

justinclarke,

#1 thanks for the images. Where did you get those from? Do you have a PDF service manual or something? <hint> <hint>

#2 it doesnt appear to be any flyer of any kind. I couldnt really get to the glass itself easily but i was able to get the inside panel off and look in to see where the noise is coming from. I am not 100% certain (because i know nothing bout power windows) but there is a little metal rod that runs vertically in the door. There is a white piece of plastic that is clipped to that that a cable/wire pulls the plastic piece up/down. Attached to that white plastic piece is the window. The noise seems to come from that piece. Also, the noise has changed from when it starts/stops to varied times when it makes noise

that's your window regulator. they aren't cheap to replace, i have to my driver side window. for a b5 they're usually about 100 bucks..they're also riveted in so they're kind of a PITA to replace.

Hrrm.... I am okay with the $100 (or so)
I dont know if it is something I can (or want) to attempt on my own. I have done a lot of work on cars, but not power windows. Also if it takes me 2-3 hours whats my time worth. If a shop charges me $100 for the labor, it might just be worth it to me.

I need to find me a good mechanic in the SD area that I can go to for stuff and really trust him.

Any idea where I can order the part online for a good price?

most of the sponsers of this site that do parts have them for around the same price..

www.germanpartsonline.com
www.getcoolparts.com
www.autohausaz.com
www.shokan.com
www.worldimpex.com

the price between all those sites varies by maybe a few bucks
