Default Power window problem

'99 A6 - front passenger window would not roll up motor clicked but would not go up or down, I ended up pulling the window up, then still would not work up or down. Motor clicks and I can see cable moving slightly (maybe an inch) but it does not move the window at all. It does not seem like it is just a lubrication problem, I can move the window easily seems like something is physically keeping the window from moving but I cannot figure out what. Hoping someone else has had similar problem and can help me out. Thanks for any help.

I had it happen, it's the window regulator. I think they call it right not passenger. Idiots!

You will need some aluminum pop rivets and a rivet gun to complete the job.

While it's apart lube up the tracks with silicone spray. then do all of the other widow traks the best you can. The silicone makes a clear difference in how thw windows roll up.

With a company that sells cars to both left hand drive and right hand drive countries, it makes sense to name parts "right" and "left." A "right" part is a "right" part in all countries, by a "passenger" part changes sides!

Good tip on the silicone.

Now that you say it that way it does make some sense, However if I owned a billion dollar auto manufacturing corporation I would name may parts as Driver/euro Passenger/amer. and eliminate the confusion. That would make sense. American cars are drivers /passengers what do they do with them in Europe (I guess they're screwed).
Thanks for explaining that.
