Default Problems after doing timing belt.

I went and took my car to get the timing belt changed guy charbged me $700 to do it. A day after i start noticng that the temperature sometimes doesnt reach the middle stays down a little. And after letting the car idle for about 5 months standing still i get in and notice my temperature is completely cold this is 5 before getting off a highway and running the car for about 20 minutes on the highway. I take it and he "rebleeds" the system a day after the same problem what could it be? I asked him and he never changed the Thermostat what do you guys htink it could be?

did the guy take the thermostat out and not put it back in?? thats about the only thing i could think of that would cause that problem..

that or the wiring for the temp sensor is loose?

def sounds like thermostat to me. maybe he put in a cheap failsafe one, and its already screwed itself and stuck open.
In my talon I went through 4 thermostats in 2 weeks before I went with OEM (kept getting them replaced over the counter, under warranty).

He should have changed tha Stat in the first place, but it looks like that is the prob
Make sure you getting good heat that is a sign you have good circulation of coolant
if not take it back ASAP

sounds like a coolant temp sensor, same problem happened with mine then i got the timing belt done and they spotted it at the VW dealer and changed it.. part is only like 20 bucks

If it only cost $700 he didn't replace the water pump or thermostat. The parts alone are over $300. So I'd go after the coolant temp sensor like jlaudio184 said.

if you scan it with a vag-com it will tell you if your coolant temp sensor is failing. they're fairly easy to replace, and they're 8 bucks i believe at ecstuning.com, or 25-30 at the dealership. the thermostat is not as easy to replace, and also more expensive, so i'd go for the temp sensor first..
