I have a 2011 Audi A4. I am not able to program my HomeLink garage opener to a new gate opener I just installed:

Slide Gate Openers | Swing Gate Openers | Garage Door Openers

It says "hoping code"... I assume that is somewhat secured, but also makes it harder to program...

Anyone has advice how to program it?

 

I have 07 A6 and I just had to replace my Gargage Door Opener with a new model Chamberlin system with MyQ. I could not get my A6 to accept the programming of Homelink to the handlheld remote, but I did get my 04 Touareg to accept the programing. But I could not get the door opener to learn the Homelink from the Touareg. I call Chamberlin Support and they passed me off to Homelink support. The 2011 garage openers are starting to hit the retail store with a new protocol called MyQ. Homelink provided this new protocol to auto manufactures about 3 or 4 years ago, but only some the autos produced in 2010 and 2011 will be compatible with MyQ. Homelink is providing a free repeater to owners of 2007 vehicles with Homelink. The repeater will be compatible with your exisiting Homelink and will bridge the MyQ protocol to the Door Opener. Mybe this information will save some people hours of fustration tring to get your Homelink to work with your new door openers.
