PROBLEMS WITH LIQUIDS HELP!
So my car was over heating and my dumbass opened the antifreeze coolant cap(I think thats what is is called) and a bunch of green liquid started to shoot out because the car was over heating but now I wanna know if it is called anti freeze coolant I no its a green color and I am wondering if there are types of it because i need to get some before i drive it to the auto repair if there is a type what type do i buy for a audi a4 2.8 quattro? thanks
Wow that is one long sentence. Your antifreeze should be a pink, not green. They/you obviously used the wrong stuff. Should be G12 A bunch of fluid shot out because the system is under pressure when the engine is warmed up/running. Youll need to do a complete flush when you put the right stuff in. You dont want to mix the pink stuff with the green stuff.
If youre taking it to a mechanic to get worked on, just put water in there and let the mechanic do the flush/fill. You need to get the correct fluid (G12) from the dealer though. Are you still having problems with your tranny?
You shouldnt be ignoring your tranny issue. You are in tranny limp mode, which means your engine is tying to pull you around in one gear (4th gear)- which is probably the reason for your engine over heating. A flush shouldnt cost more than $50 with new fluid. Your mechanic should be able to scan your ecu/tcu to find out why your stuck in limp mode/why engine is over heating if nothing else is very obvious.
Well I am going to go to auto zone and find out why the check engine light is on they will run the it on there computer and see what codes I get thenI will go to my mechnic tomm. Man to many issues coming up in this car after I get it fixed I am going to sell it.
