Default Proper way of flooring a Automatic?

Ok, so I was wondering what is the proper way of getting the best out of your Automatic transmission? Pretty much in "D", and also if you're just flooring it I know once you hear that certain "click" from pushing your pedal all the way down to it, it downshifts your car.

I just really wanna get the most speed out of this car, I don't really use the "Tiptronic either. [:'(]

My 0-60 is in the 10 range and thats pretty slow for being chipped..

use tip! it isn't supposed to be that fast, but I would have thought you'd be in the high sevens or low 8's with a chip...ionno, the car isn't supposed to be fast off the line, only in the range of the turbo (which will be alot easier using tip because you can keep the revs where they need to be to get the full potential out of the turbo)...sounds like K04 or bigger should be in your future if you are actually looking for some decent times....gl!

I've noticed when I just punch on the gas HARDfrom, sitting like a duck to 60, it tends to go slower.. But when Igradually step onthe gas, then punch it, it seems to be a lot faster.

use tip, roling start in first, let it wind up to 2500-3000 or so and then punch it, by then your turbo will be spooling and will be nice accel to 5500 then shift and repeat.... all of the power you are looking for is between 3000 and like 5700 rpms....
(I don't have experience driving tip in an a4, only the x's jetta) someone please correct me if I am wrong or add to my general idea!)

I get best results in D mode, not tip, when going for flat out 0-60. Shift seem faster is D mode compared to tip.

10 seconds is a little slow for being chipped.. It should be closer to 7-8 seconds. give your ecu a couple weeks to adapt to the chip. expect inconsistant performance until then.

Agreed D seems to shift faster. If you are at a light just floor it and let the car shift. If you are rolling start push all the waay down and hit the "kickdown" that little click you feel that downshifts the car. Gotta love being able to down shift with no hands. But yeah when your doing about 25-30 hit the kickdown, she'll throw you back. I LOVE IT. Tip is more fun to drive and my exhasut sounds nicer because Im controling the rpms but drving in D is quicker atleast it feels that way to me.

i use tip 80% of the time. I only use D when racing off the line, cruising on the highway,or when traffic is slow.

my audi just redlines if i floor it passed the point of depression...so if i were to use D i wouldn't get the full potential from the turbo so i just use tip... people say it lags, but i think it shifts in the same amount of time, it just doesnt shift exactly when you tell it to, so shift earlier to adjust for that difference.. also downshift to get your engine working harder for you if you want to gain speed in the higher gears

well if you want to get the best acceleration in an automatic just put it in neutral rev a lilbit and then drop in into d haha jp but it'll work if you can afford a new trans every week
