purchasing an A$
I am new to this site and would love your help/opinions. I had a 98 A4 1.8 which was the first Audi I've ever owned and I'm in love. My husband however smashed it and so now I'm in the process of purchasing a new vehicle. What I need help with is the vehicle I'm looking at. I've found a 2005.5 A4 3.2 quattro with navigation package and they have it priced right under $11,000. It has 118000 miles on it and the lady that owns it is the dealerships daughter. I'm assuming shes probably had their mechanic do most of the servicing-I'll know more about that later this week as I am going to look at the vehicle. From everything I've read it seems that this model has a timing chain so I won' need to worry about that being done. Are there any problems/issues with this particular model? I'm really in love with this car already but from my past experience I know that I need to be careful in my purchase. (I bought my first audi from my sister and it wasn't cared for properly which led to lots of extra work being done! )Would love any feedback! Thank you!
I just purchased a 2005 A6 with the 3.2. love the car and the only problem I have had was with the valve that activates the piston that holds tension on the cam chain. this repair cost me $320.. other than that; in the research that I have done, the 2005 had several improvements over the 2000 to 2004 models including the MMI software, timing chain (in place of the belt), and the variable valve system.
