I was thinking of getting a cd deck put into my 96 audi a4. only question is, how would I unlock it from safe mode, if the original buttons/ controls arent on anymore

 

do you have the code for the radio?? you should have a card with it on, if not ask the dealer to provide it "at a cost", the minuet you disconnect the battery "if you have to" you will lose the code, I use a 9v battery plugged into the ciggy lighter to keep the memory live "CAM " ignition has to be on for this

 

the CD player should just plug into the audio system therefore no need to remove the battery

 

true, but for future reference when i disconnect the battery and i dont have the normal face on my audio system, the intructions to unlock it will be null

 

if you have a clip off front there is no code required that's the idea of a clip off front "you take it out" nothing for the thief to take worth while clip off front audio are not coded for that reason
