depends on where you live to be honest ( in the UK its worthless unless its a farmer ) fuel consumption is higher on standard roads like kid drop offs at the school which is what its used for over here

 

After driving quattro I will never drive anything not AWD again and I will never drive anything without quattro again. Yes you are heavier and front track is quicker........but quattro is definately worth the money. When you have quattro and your accelerating around bends when everyone else is slowing down..........and you somehown feel like you have more control when you accelerate.......its an awesome feeling

I had a 00 A4 Quattro and now have an 04 FWD. I live in AZ...no rain and certainly no snow where I am. So, I have a lighter, less complex car that is quicker than a quattro. It is a USP, so it handles just fine. I'll put Bilsteins and springs on it, perhaps a bigger sway bar or two and it will handle as good as I have the nerve or ability to drive on the street. If you don't NEED quattro, then it's just a badge on the car. A heavier, slower car.

 

Oh, however, if you plan on modding it much, then the quattro will certainly help you take off from a stop more quickly. No spinning of the front wheels.

 

I love my Quattro! I don't think I'll ever own anything but. An A4 Quattro is like a GLI. Do get the CPO though. The warranty owns it!
