question about turbos

Default question about turbos

i was wondering if this turbo is anybetter than the stock turbo in my 2001 a4 1.8t

GT12 72TRIM 43AR

i cant find any specs on it, but it seems like it would not be much of an improvement. running at under $500 for a brand new turbo is cheap. imo, not worth it. id have to see the gains to be sure.

ya i couldnt find any spec's either. ya thats what i figured

ill prolly just get a chip but i doubt any place around where i live would tune my car and install it. prolly go to atlanta

smart choice. judging by size/cost of that turbo you'll get more gains out of a chip. and of course, remember to get a new dv.

Probably not worth it. It may or may not run out of breath in the upper rev range like the K03 does, but a chip is easy, reliable, proven, and prolly will give you the same kind of gains, if not better.

Yeah, thats just a tiny one, guys are putting gt30s on, and thats only a gt12s

that thing is tiny. I would put it on my ride along lawnmower. lol

A gt28 or gt30 is the way to go.
