Default Question about turbos in 2.7T

I have a simple question about turbo's. What's the common symptom of turbo failure, i mean you can feel it while accelerating (engine is stalling)
or maybe weird sounds from motor etc etc. Is it safe for motor to operate with blown turbo's? I mean, can you ride your car without them? Thanx a lot.

If they go out, they will either start blowing oil and/or coolant out the tail pipe, or you will hear a dentist drill/police siren noise when under boost. Most of the time, if you have blown turbos you will be leaking so much fluid that it won't be safe to drive on it, there are other factors, but suffice to say don't do it. Its not possible to drive the car "without" them, you would have to take off the entire manifold and either weld the turbo flange closed or put a 2.8L manifold on it, and thats just plain stupid...
