i have a 2000 audi a4 when i start the car in the informaiton center it has 100 miles until service....my question is what kind of service is it referring to? I apologize if this is a stupid question but i'll appreciate the help

Um, I would check the manual but on my 96' a4 when "ln 1" appears it means I need an oil change, and "ln 2" is scheduled stuff like control arms, shocks, etc. I would look in your cars owner manual though because it might be different for your model year.

the problem with that is i somehow misplaced my manuel i think its at work in my desk drawer and i won't be back there until wednesday

I guess that would be a problem. DO you know if it says ln1 or ln2 when you first start up the car? On mine again the ln1 or ln2 appears for a second or two then switchs to how many miles I have till the service.

You need a vag-com to reset the service indicator on a 96-97

What this means is that the indicator is programmed to go off every (7500?) mi. Its not like its smart enough to recognize a problem or anything. Usually, the dealer would just reset it after service.
