Quick B5 Concert stereo question...
Sorry if I sound dumb about this, but I have new stereo gear that I'm about to install and just need to get the headunit adapter harness in order to start the install (after this storm is over). The question is this: my 99 A4 2.8 has the center-button Concert head unit. Is this a Bose stereo? I'd go crawl around in my trunk and try to find an amplifier, but it's raining/sleeting/snowing right now and it's not exactly the best weather for that. Anyone have a quick answer? If it helps, I have a 6 speaker setup (maybe all A4s do, I don't know) with the CD changer. TIA...
i think it is the bose. one way you can check is if the door speaker covers say bose on them. or when you turn the radio on, it should say bose first then the normal cd stuff. that is all i know. o and my amp is hanging above the cd changer in the trunk. it is the little black box thing
this picture is a bose deck. sorry its a bad picture its old and it was in another thred. never mind the yellow. inthe top of the picture you can just see the center button and... you get it

hmmmm....... well then i have no idea. just look to see if your speaker covers say bose or not
you can have concert stereo, and still not have bose. the surefire way to tell is to look at the amp in the trunk, but a quick way to check is to look at the speaker covers in the doors, as other people have said.
It's not quite a bose system, the front speakers are powered from the HU and the rear speakers each have an amp built onto the back of them. You could try just using the standard adapter harness and make sure you hook up the turn on lead to turn on the factory amps. You may find that the levels are too high in the back though and you would need to fade to the front a little to get things matched up better. Another route you could take is to jumper over the factory amp on the back of the speaker so you are running them only with the new HU power... although that not as easy as it sounds.
