Just finished painting my shifter plate silver to match my black interior trim, and want to do the trim around the factory headunit. I have seen this done before but can not figure out how to remove it.

Eww you wanna paint that silver? That's wrong.

Anyways, it's not trim. It doesnt remove... it is part of the whole radio unit -- 1 piece. When you remove the radio, you remove the trim, all together.

EDIT: but the silver around the shifter looks good, hopefully it doesnt scratch easily and look like ***... but I guess you could just repaint it!

you could mask the buttons.. or paint them as well.. i guess and make some clear labels or stencils to redo the buttons.. that would be different
