Default quick question about programming my ebay remote

i just got a remote from ebay, and i follow the instruction from the seller to program it. however once i program the new remote, the old remote stop functioning. I did it a couple time and i got the same result over and over again. Mine is a 2000 a4 2.8 auto, i asked the dealer and they told me it's going to cost me one hours of labor to program it for me. I look did a search in this form and find no one with a similar problem with me. please help.

Thank's for the help, but this is one of many version of programing the remote I have read so far. This might also be the most confusing one.

Typically no, the dealer must cut the key. My dealer only charges $5 to do it.

the dealer i went to charge me 15$ just to cut the key, and the service dept told me it's an hours of labor to program the remote for me, and it's a hundred dollars per hour of labor. Dealer lie and charge way too much.
