Default quick shift **** question

I kind of want a new shift **** for my A4....mine is showing a little wear and i think if i found a real nice one I would be interested in changing. Everytime I have been to the sites that are listed on this forum as dealers of Audi parts, I never really see any that I like that much. However, i see a lot of aftermarket ***** on bmws that I think look awesome. Do shift ***** fit universally? (maybe a dumb question)

check www.lltek.com. I was looking around for one and there's a few for Audi's on there. The short-shift kits are on there (pricewise I'm not sure how fair they are though).

a short shifter would be nice...but i dont go around to the tracks and race...so basically, shortening my throws would be cool..but not on the top list of my priorities. I just want to replace my shift **** because it looks a little warn..

i saw a cool RS4 **** i think it was...but it has the 6spd pattern on it...can i just pop that off and put on the one of my 5spd or are they like glued down?

Well the B6's and B7's have a different shifter than the B5's. The B5 is a screw on type. The B6's and B7's have the shift **** attatched to the shifter boot leather. It's all one big piece. So make sure what you are finding is a B5 application.
