I have a 1996 A4 Quattro and when the radio is set to play FM stations, the AM station can also be heard. The AM stations work just fine as does the tape and CD. It is obviously annoying and makes listening to FM station inpossible. Any solution short of replacing the radio?

LOL, well that sucks. I never use the radio anyway, CD's sound so much better!

 

I like when two stations over lap, so that I could listen for both of them. way better. Ones becouse of that I called wrong station and gave that station wrong comment, he startted like what da hell are you talking about, and it was weird.

 

Very unlikely that you'll avoid replacing the whole thing, unless you're willing to locate a schematic, crack open your radio, find some new parts, and do some soldering.

It sounds like the shielding inside the selector stage must be bad, which is probably a single chip, but not an easy fix unless you know your way around a circuit board.
