Hi everyone

For a while now I have been having problems with rainwater leaking into the passenger footwell. What sees to happen is the rainwater that runs down the windscreen collects in a compartment in the engine bay which houses the battery and the zircon assembly, when going round a sharp corner you can hear the water sloshing about in there, it also effects the airflow through the outlets in the car. I am assuming if the water level gets high enough it overspills and ends up leaking into the passenger footwell soaking the carpet.

Does anyone know if theres meant to be a drainage hole or something that I can check to see if it's blocked? I don't want to start drilling holes in a galvanised body shell encouraging rust to start.

Model: 1999 A4 Avant 1.9 TDI (110) SE

Many thanks

Im having a very similar problem. I forgot to check out that area of my 98 a4 2.8 and it was all rusted out. Definitely would like to find an awnser to this too. I was thinking about plugging the holes in the screen but that would heat the engine more I suppose..

check that all your drain grommets arent clogged. ive read other posts where it was as simple as that.
