Default Rear Brakes - Advice

Hey All,

I was wondering if after market rear brakes, pads and rotors are ok, or not?
Looking to possibly save $. I had a potential car (A4 2.8 Q) inspected by a relyable audi shop (not dealer), and the only things found wrong were the rear brakes were low (recommended to replace in a few months), and it needed an alignment.
I was told a rear brake job w/audi parts is in the range of $400-500. We're trying to minimize the overall initial cost of buying, etc..

Thanks!!!!!!!
Adam

^^^^^ above. Parts should be a total of about 120 dollars. Labor should be in the range of another 100

Mintex Red pads are very good aftermarket pads (about $55) and OEM rotors run about $100 a set. Look it up at www.ecstuning.com. You will need a special tool to compress the caliper pistons, so you are looking at about $220 plus your labor. The tool is just an upfront cost.

Actually the tool is $35, the rear pads are $40 and the rotors range from $70 to $100. Here's the tool: http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...ro&engine=1.8T

So, I'm hearing that aftermarket and OEM are in fact ok, and no need to go with authentic Audi parts on (pads and rotors)? I like the prices I'm seeing already!
