Rear differential leak

Rear differential leak
I noticed last night that I had something hanging down under the car. So I got looking at it today and it turned out to be a broken exhaust hanger. Not a big deal, but when I was down there I also noticed that the rear differential was leaking. It's not dropping on the ground or anything but the case is definitely wet and dirty.
Does anyone know how to tell if it's something that needs to be done immediately or something that can wait? I found a write up on AW about how to change the seals but I'm not positive that the seals are leaking, so I'm really gonna have to do some dirty digging. Has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks in advance.

RE: Rear differential leak
It should just dribble out when you remove the fill plug (assuming the car is level). Have some gear oil on hand and when you check the level, fill it until it starts to flow out. then insert the the fill plug
