Default Rear wheel bearings

Sorry to start a new thread on this, but it is not technicaly related to my rear brakes thread...

How hard is it to get the rear inner race/bearing/outer race out of the hub??? I mean could i just stick a screw driver and get it out that way? Ive heard that it needs to be pressed out... How could I get this out without taking the hub off and having to worry about a rear alignment after everything is put back together. I really dont want to take the bearings out, but it seems that if i have to take the rear rotors off, its goiong to be unavoidable. Could I just repack the outer race/bearing with some fresh grease???? Thanks!

Yeah well Im just going to try and do it without taking taking the bearings out. Is the inner race the only part that is press into the hub?

So if i take of the rear rotor, part of the bearing is going to have to come out with it right? The rear bearing goes in the middle of the rear rotor, and also into the hub right? If i get a bearing press, I can just re press the outer part that is in the rotor right?

Man, when I changed my rear rotors I didn't do any of that. I just beat on them and they fell off. I've never heard of having to take a wheel bearing out to change a rotor. I think you'll get in there and be like "man this is way easier than I thought." Read some of the tech articles on AW if you don't have a repair manual. If you don't, I'd recommend picking up a Chilton b/c I just got a Bentley and I keep finding myself going back to the Chilton. There's just something about real pictures.

Yeah I usually make things harder than they actually are. I just like to be completely prepared and minimize the time it takes with no surprises. I guess all i need to worry about is getting the caliper tool... Anyway thanks all for your help and ill post some pics tomorrow of the job if yall want... Youll laugh when you see the condition of the old rotors.
