Removing the Center Armrest
well I still have no idea what to do, I see the screws next to the phone i jack, is that where I start? With the ones on the side? I am about 3 seconds away from taking a saws all to the whole thing and saying screw it (I would never do this because I love my AUDI like it is imediate family) but omg is this frustrating. Simple problem. Leather on armrest is coming off. Solution....You must quest to a distant land never to be put on a map, only 3 men have seen it and no where it is. 2 are dead, the other is missing. Find the last living witness and find the lost land, once there head to the top of the highest mountain where you will find a temple. Once inside fight of the armies of the undead guardians of the oracle. Once they are defeated you must make your way across the tight rope, over the lava pit while juggling 3 panda bear cubs (note, you must have the panda cubs prior to beggining that quest as ther on none on the island) after that seek the oracle. When he appears ask the oracle what you should do. Had this been the real solution I would have had the arm rest fixed 2 weeks ago. PLEAZE HELP!!!!!
I have the same problem on my 2001 A4. I cannot get the leather part off seperately, but I can get the armrest cover off together. I'm not sure about a 2000, but there are no screws under the rubber stoppers. The first step is disconnecting the phone jack. Mine requres a T8 sized star screwdriver. Once you slide the phone jack out, you simply squeeze the cover where it attaches to the center console on the passenger side, then squeeze the driver side hinge out. I believe the leather is perminantly attached to the cover but it is much easier to fix if you take the entire cover off of the arm rest. Mine is so bad I should probably get a new one. Anybody know where I can find a grey center armrest cover?
I just found a place where you could possibly find a replacement if you do not wish to get it upholstered. They run about $65 for the arm rest cover. I might get mine upholstered.
