It injects fresh air into the exhaust so that unburned hydrocarbons are burned

 

it is pretty simple just find a hose big enough to go onto the combi valve take the hose off that is there that goes to the secondary air pump clamp down your new hose and stick a little breather filter on the end of it not sure if this will caise i CEL yet or not I know guys on www.audizine.com have this done

 

this is also on cold starts only

 

secondary air pump wouldnt be the cel for the secondary air injector would it?

i had to plug the hole bc it wouldnt stay runin when i started it but i also had my maf unplugged(i can do this though bc im dbw) i havent tried it since i hooked the maf up might try that today

 

i had my MAF unplugged for a while also it was running rich as hell and definetly got a CEL also would barly stay running but when I plugged the MAF back it it was fine

 

secondary air injector = secondary air pump.

You will, in all likeliness, get a perm CEL if you remove the pump completely. The system with throw constant Secondary Air Injection codes.
