Replacing Air Filter
I have a 2004 A4 1.8t, and i jus got from performancecenter.com a K&N air filter for my air box. The only slight problem is that im not familiar with the configuration and installment of my air box. Could some one who has installed an air filter in thier A4 1.8t help me out a little bit and explain how you did yours? or am i justbeing retarded and its a one two three thing[8D]

Yeah, you'll have to pull the "freshair" ducting out of the way. It just snaps out then back in. Then after you remove the clips like Jestnomen said the airbox comes apart and there is your factory air filter, just remove, replace and put back together. Not bad.
while it is just that easy... i have to admit, it was a bit intimidating the first time i looked around the air box...
on the subject, how are these people 'modding' their air boxes for better sound?

There are CAI's for the 1.8t and there have been a few custom ram kits built, too.
