Default 40k & 80k For Replacing Air Filter? No way.

The maintenance schedule says to replace it at those intervals. Forgive me if this is a dead horse issue on here (haven't seen it and its not in the FAQ) but I can't imagine driving it another 30k looking like this. I wonder if this one was done at 40k.

You might notice the K&N in the background on deck. Thought I'd give it a try.

that one doesnt look to bad. If you just check it at each oil change, you can change it when needed. Think 20-25k for a paper filter is about max

Agreed, i change my paper ones out every 20k. Un-less you live in the desert or something then i would bump it up to 10k

Even so, Iwas more concerned with thedust on the inside of the box. Guess my neat-freakism carries over to cars.
I justhad the oil doneand the weather was great today so thought it was a good time to check the airflow.

Now, if the TOP half of your airbox looked that dirty, then I'd show some concern, but of course the dirty side is gonna look dirty!

Don't worry... I took my dirt devil to the airbox to get all of the junk out.

Nice! That would make it easier to get pine needles out of all those crevices!
