replacing steering rack?

Nah its pretty easy man, just a few bolts holding it in, un-do the linkage from the steering shaft, pop off the tie rod ends and pull it out of there, there isn't anything in the way, why was it so hard for you?

have you done this install on the quattro?

i had it done at a shop but i was there for every minute of it.

it was not as easy as you think....you will also most likely have to replace your "high pressure" line to your rack from your pump....when we tryed to take mine off it broke.

if you have a lift available ...then go for it...its just not tht easy..

Ive done a steering rack on almost every audi imagineable, including the new RS4.
Don't get me wrong its harder than a honda but its cake work compared to other audis.

i bought a brand new one....that one is remenufactured...i would not trust something remanufactured....specially when the racks are repaired for the same reason 9 out of 10 times
