How do you reset the throttle body on 1998 audi a4 automatic/tiptronic

 

turn the key to on position but dont start the car. it should reset its self in a few minutes.

 

do not touch the accelerator peddle this will scupper it ( ignition on and leave it alone )

 

Must have Drive By Wire car. Disconnect the battery and do what
they, above said.

 

Theres still a basic setting for non dbw, for the idle control.

 

what is a drive by wire car and how long do i wait after i disconnect the batery and turn the key to the on postiion. also is the car actually on when in on position.

 

Make sure you have your stereo code if you disconnect the battery as you will need it.

 

Or you can just pull the ECU out for 30 mins and then do the key thing...nothing else will work for the ECU will still be connected to the car and still keep the current fuel trim logs. Don't disconnect the batt that won't do it.

okay I'm not looking to do this, but this is the most confusing thread I have ever seen. Pull the battery, no pull the ecu, you need the stereo code, you can only do DBY, you can also do non DBY. Whoa!
