Retrofitting 99.5+ foglights on a 99 B5...
OK, my question revolves around this: I have a bastard 99 A4 (must've been built right around the midyear changeover - I have 99 headlights, 99.5+ tails, 2000 brakes, etc) and I got a set of the 99.5+ foglights/bezels/grilles that fit into the lower corners of the front bumper. Doing some quick spot-fitting in there, the grille and bezel are slightly too large to fit, which is no problem - I can modify them to fit. What I do not have is any provision for mounting the lights themselves. On the cars that came with these foglights, are the bolt sockets that allow the lights to be mounted, formed in as part of the bumper? Are there bolt-in brackets on those cars for mounting the lights? Are the mounts part of another piece under the hood?
I see that on the passenger side, I'm going to have to move some things around to make room for the lights (and I expect that'll be the case on the driver's side too). That's not a big deal really (yet anyway - I haven't pulled the bumper to see what exactly I'm going to have to do), but I do need to know if there are foglight mounting brackets that I can buy to mount the lights, or do I have to fab them up? Anyone out there done this already and able to give a few pointers? If so, TIA...
