I have a 1997 1.8t a4, its giving me problems such as when I put in Drive it feels like it goes staight to second gear.... but on the dash board where the gear is lit up ( P R D 4 3 2 ) Theyre all lit up, vs. only the gear im in is supposed to be lit on the dash. I beleive it may be just electrical problem... Also i had the car checked oiut on the snap-on device, it wouldnt communicate with the ecu... ANY IDEA what could be the problem???

 

sounds like your tranny is going in to its limp mode, better take her to get checked out

 

Your multifunction switch has probably gone south.
