reverse came back, 5th gear is gone??
Interesting A4 I have. The reverse went out, this is a 98 auto/tiptronic 132K.
Over the weekend, the reverse "came back". The car seemed to be running REALLY nice in the "auto" mode. The reason it is running so well in auto, is that my car thinks its in the tiptronic mode, and it never gets into 5th gear.
I figured out that 80MPH I was just under 4000 RPMS. The tiptronic does nothing now, and my 1st gear light on the dash is not showing.
Fortunately, I have a great guy that is looking at it later. I wanted to share with this board, in the event someone knows whats going on, LOL!
