Default Right Headlight Dipped

Hey All,

So i have a late model 02 A4. I love this car, great on gas, curves and on snow, cant ask for more out of a vehicle. So my right headlight dipped message came up about a month ago, it would still light up and work fine for a bout 10 minutes every-time i would start up (but i guess either a short or a the bulb would over heat) so anyways, does anyone have any solutions? parts list that i should look into. Currently i am looking at a range control module and two new xenon bulbs, right side is out, but i might as well replace both so color is consistent. this is the kicker bulbs were 218.50 a piece, ok i can take that, then the module is 517.55. I got these prices from don rosen imports in Philadelphia, is that right? the dealer in maryland where i know live told me it would be 124.36. im not sure if either of these dealers are just jerkin me around or what. If you have anny insight please lay it on me. thanks, have a good day. best regards,
mike

Sounds like more dealership shenanigans to me. I just replaced both the D1S bulbs (which were strangely hard to source) with 6000ËšK Hella's in my car for under $200. That's probably all you need. Otherwise it could be a ballast or something, and those are cheap on eBay. Hell, you might just need to check the contacts and make sure the bulb is seated in all the way!

What leads you to believe that you need a range control module...and what is that!?

So please stay away from the dealership!

Try swapping bulbs and balasts from side to side to see if it follows a certain part.
