Default s4 engine conversion

Has anyone here, or does anyone here know anyone who has tried installing the 2.7 s4 engine in their a4? I'm pretty keen on getting into a big project like this. Ive seen these engines (including flywheel, wiring loom etc) sell for £1000 with low miles on them, so the way I see it, its a lot of performance gain for the money. Any thoughts welcome. Cheers.

Ditto. I've seen people try it, but it inevitably become more expensive than a regular S4. Also the resale value of the car is going to drop.

It was on ebay, and yes the final auction price was a little over £1000. Sadly, when I saw it, it was just after I had bought the car, so the bank balance was a little low. In fairness, Ive not seen many come up, and usually they do go for more.

If you didnt have enough money to buy an S4 in the first place, I don't see how you'd justify doing such an expensive, and time consuming swap. This exact topic was brought up no more than 2 weeks ago... am I right?

You dont have the money. If you couldnt afford to buy an S4, you can't afford this swap. If you've won the lotto or stumbled under a mattress concealing a pile of cash... then sell your a4, and buy an S4... I'm just repeating what was said above... but it makes NO sense to do the swap. Think about it... ugh! engine, ECU, turbo's, transmission, clutch, exhaust -- those things alone make up the difference probably... then factor in other things like plugs/wires engine driven accessories... you'll still have our puny brakes, which arent enough to slow down a car with 300 hp... the S4 is a PACKAGE -- for a reason. It's more than just an a4 with a twin turbo 2.7.
