Default Sachs Clutch??

I just bought a 98 1.8L and need to install a new clutch. I notice that I can pick up a Sachs kit for a good price. Does anyone know how well these things are? In the near future I plan on installing a chip and DV. Will this clutch hold up?

I hope you got a good deal on a car that needs a new clutch.

Sachs is the stock clutch. It will be fine with the chip, but you could upgrade to a slightly better clutch if you wanted. Lots of guys here have upgraded clutches at different stages. You don't need anything crazy if you are only going to chip it, but if you plan on some bigger upgrades, turbo etc, you are better off getting a better clutch now so it will handle bigger power. Do some searching of previous clutch posts.

I decided to go with the Sachs stage 2 kit.

I will be installing it with a mechanic friend of mine who owns his own garage. Any tips on making this a little less painful than it's going to be?
