Default sat nav speed sensor wire

Hey everybody, from what ive seen, I've loved the forum- lots of cool info. But now to put your nerdy brains to the test...

Im fitting my 98 a4 (non bose) with an alpine gps sat nav unit. To make this gizmo work its best, it needs to be plugged into a spped pulse line. Most modern cars will have a wire built into the stereo wiring loom designed to tell a phone kit to get louder as the car goes faster- this is the one i need to find. Im hoping my audi will be the same; I just need to know which wire on the loom is the speed pulse. Plugging the wrong one into my head could easily fry it (trust me- ive been there).

If indeed audi didnt wire a speed pulse into the stereo loom; then does anybody know where i can fine one on the car?

C'mon lads, Im a counting on youz.

The term is GALA - Pin 1 of the black 8 pin connector.

I have an b6 1.8T and I just had the ddx8017 installed, but it needs to be connected to the speed pulse or something. Anyone know where I could find it on that? I had the symphony head unit.
