I believe mine is special though as I have a 1.8T with a little red flag on it... can someone confirm?
it means you got a sport edition. if you wana check out what you have in the car you'll find this link quite helpful: https://www.audiforums.com/m_81271/tm.htm

hi all,

just purchased a '04 1.8t with the 6spd. manual, i'm looking into purchasing the GIAC or APR chips..moreso the GIAC flashloader. Does it matter if it's the 5spd. or 6spd. tranny? I don't want to purchase it and find out that they only work on 5spds.

thanks in advance.
not sure but when you go to the place to get it flashed they will tell you exactly which programs they have for your car

Would anybody happen to know if the GIAC chips extend the redline or remove any speed limitations?

I thought I read something saying that they did, but I looked all over their site and didn't find anything about it...

On a 1.8t, right?

What about on a 2.8 30v?

a chip will remap your fueling and timing to match the increase in boost that it offers.

You can raise the speed limiter to virtually remove it through Lemmiwinks.
